Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitter

My name is Dave Flora and I am the owner of Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitters also known as WOWHUNTS. I am an Ohio native and have lived in central and southern Ohio my entire life. I began hunting white tail deer in 1972 and was fortunate enough to tag my first buck in Hocking County in 1975. Back then, bucks were the only deer allowed to be hunted.

My family bought 215 acres in Hocking County in 1992 and that became a life changing experience for me. I now felt I had a “blank canvas” so to speak and now had the ability to create my own habitat for deer and turkey hunting. I joined both the Quality Deer Management Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Now the quest was on to learn everything I could about hunting white tail deer. I became addicted to deer hunting and my weapon of choice became a bow and arrow. Over the years I became fairly successful and was fortunate enough to have friends who were very skilled hunters and are also very competitive. Basically, we pushed and encouraged each other to become better and better at this sport through our competitive nature. I have also been fortunate enough to kill deer in the 120, 130, 140 and 160 class with my largest being a 198 inch 12 pointer. All these deer were killed with bow and arrow. Archery is my favorite way to hunt deer and I very rarely use anything else.

I am now 55 years old and have had multiple back surgeries in recent years so I don’t hunt much these days. So now what I really enjoy doing is creating habitats, managing deer and teaching younger and less experienced hunters how to hunt white tail deer. I myself have plenty to learn and I personally believe that a mature white tail deer is the hardest animal on the North American continent to tag. This is what makes this pursuit so addicting.

If you would like to learn more about myself and my camp, please feel free to shoot me an email or give me a call. I would love to hear from you.
